The progressive Liberal Party mourns the passing of Mrs. Trixie Hanna (nee Burrows), mother-in-law of Prime Minister the Rt. Hon. Perry G. Christie and mother of First Lady Bernadette Christie. Mrs. Hanna was 81 years old.

Mrs. Hanna passed away early this morning at the Princess Margaret Hospital.

She was born on March 1st, 1931 in Deadman's Cay Long Island and Mrs. Hanna was predeceased by her husband the Rev Howard Hanna and her Parents Capt. Lorenzo and Ellen Burrows and leaves behind two daughters, Mrs. Paula Hanna-Miller and Mrs. Bernadette Christie, wife of the Prime Minister the Rt. Hon. Perry G Christie MP.

The Progressive Liberal Party honors her work and commitment to the ideals and tenants of the party and remains grateful for the vitally important role she played in the policy development and direction of the party as a Stalwart Councilor and member of the National General Council.

On behalf of the Progressive Liberal, I express my heartfelt condolences to daughters Paula and Bernadette and to her grand children Steffan, Alexandria and Adam Christie and Shane Russell, her siblings Virgie Carroll, Carmetta Burrows, Dillis Storr, Hinton Burrows during this difficult period. I am confident that God’s grace is sufficient.

May her soul and the souls of all the dearly departed rest in peace.
