SEVEN DAY WEATHER FORECAST FROM 11th- 17th JUNE, 2012
GENERAL SITUATION: A WEAK SURFACE TROUGH ACROSS THE SOUTHERN BAHAMAS WILL BRING SOME SHOWER ACTIVITY TO THE SOUTHEAST AND CENTRAL BAHAMAS THROUGH WEDNESDAY AS IT DRIFTS WESTWARD. ON FRIDAY A WEAK FRONTAL TROUGH WILL WANDER INTO THE NORTHWEST BAHAMAS AND STALL NEAR THE CENTRAL BAHAMAS SATURDAY BEFORE LIFTING NORTH SUNDAY AND MONDAY. MEANWHILE A WEAK RIDGE OF HIGH PRESSURE WILL HANG AROUND THE ISLANDS THROUGH FRIDAY.
Monday 11th – Partly Cloudy and Breezy in the Southeast Bahamas with passing Scattered Showers and Isolated Thunderstorms. Mostly Sunny, Breezy and Hot over the Northwest and Central Bahamas during the day with Isolated Showers and a Slight chance of an Isolated Thunderstorm; Maximum Temperature 88°F. Fair to Partly Cloudy at night with occasional Scattered Showers and Isolated Thunderstorms in the Central and Southeast Bahamas; Minimum Temperature 77°F. Winds NE-E,15-20 knots over ALL areas; Seas 4-6 feet over open waters. Small craft caution is in effect for ALL areas.
Tuesday 12th – Partly Sunny, a tad Breezy and Warm during the day with Few Scattered Showers and Isolated Thunderstorms across the Central and Southeast Bahamas; Maximum Temperature 87°F. Mostly Fair at night with Isolated Showers and Thunderstorms lingering across the Central and Southeast Bahamas; Minimum Temperature 77°F. Winds NE-E 15 knots during the day becoming E-SE 10-15 knots at night; Seas 3-5 feet during the day and to 2-4 feet at nighttime.
Wednesday 13th – A Mix of Sun and Clouds and Very Warm during the day with Spotty Showers and Isolated Thunderstorms mainly near the waning Surface Trough; Maximum Temperature 90°F. Mostly Fair at night with Isolated Showers and a Slight chance of an Isolated Thunderstorm; Minimum Temperature 78ºF. Winds E-SE 10 knots or less over ALL areas; Seas 1-3 feet over open waters.
Thursday 14th – Partly Sunny and Hot during the day with Isolated Showers and Thunderstorms mainly during the late morning early afternoon hours; Maximum Temperature 91°F.
