A man and a woman were shot and killed in Pinewood Gardens around 10 o'clock last night, police confirmed. Superintendent Paul Rolle, who heads the Central Detective Unit, said they were in an apartment when a gunman reportedly kicked down the door and shot them multiple times.
No one was in custody in connection with the murders, which occurred at Buttonwood Avenue and Sequoia Street. The killings pushed the murder count for the year to 65. It stood at 57 last year this time. Police also reported an alleged suicide on Johnson Road last night. Police said a female was found hanging in a house after 10 p.m.
