SEVEN DAY WEATHER FORECAST FROM 31st MAY– 6TH JUNE, 2012

GENERAL SITUATION: WARM TROPICAL MOISTURE FROM THE CARIBBEAN SEA AND THE GULF OF MEXICO WILL HELP TO SUSTAIN PERIODS OF SHOWER AND THUNDERSTORM ACTIVITY THROUGH SATURDAY. THEREAFTER A WEAK FRONTAL TROUGH WILL SNEAK INTO THE NORTHERN BAHAMAS SATURDAY NIGHT AND MOVE THROUGH THE REMAINING ISLANDS SUNDAY AND MONDAY. YET ANOTHER FRONTAL TROUGH WILL SAG TOWARD THE NORTHERN BAHAMAS LATE WEDNESDAY. MEANWHILE A WEAK RIDGE OF HIGH PRESSURE WILL CONTINUE TO SIT LAZILY OVER THE AREA THROUGH TUESDAY.

Thursday 31st – A Mix of Sun and Clouds and Hot during the day with Isolated Showers and a slight chance of an Isolated Thunderstorm; Maximum Temperature 91°F. Partly Cloudy at night with Isolated Showers and Thunderstorms; Minimum Temperature 78°F. Winds SE-S, 10 knots or less in the Northwest and SE-S, 5-10 knots in the Central and Southeast Bahamas but winds will fall light and variable at times over ALL areas; Seas 1-2 feet over open waters.

Friday 1st – Partly to Mostly Cloudy and very Warm during the day with Isolated Showers and Thunderstorms mainly across the Northwest Bahamas; Maximum Temperature 90°F. Partly Cloudy at night with Few Scattered Showers and Isolated Thunderstorms; Minimum Temperature 78°F. Winds SE-S, 5-10 knots but mostly light and variable; Seas 1-2 feet over open waters

Saturday 2nd – Partly to Mostly Cloudy and pretty Warm with Scattered Showers and Isolated Thunderstorms particularly across Bimini, Grand Bahama, and Abaco during the morning and early afternoon hours; Maximum Temperature 89°F. Partly Cloudy at night with Isolated Showers and Thunderstorms; Minimum Temperature 78ºF. Winds S-SW 10-15 knots in the Northwest Bahamas; Seas 2-4 feet over open waters. Winds SE-S, 5-10 knots in the Central and Southeast Bahamas but occasionally light and variable at times; Seas 1-2 feet over open waters.

Sunday 3rd – Partly Sunny and quite Warm during the day with a Slight chance of an Isolated Shower or Thunderstorm; Maximum Temperature 89°F. Partly Cloudy at night with Isolated Showers and a Slight chance of a Stray Thunderstorm; Minimum Temperature 77ºF. Winds SW-W, 5-10 knots in the Northwest and Central Bahamas and E-SE, 5-10 knots in the Southeast Bahamas however winds will me mostly light and variable over ALL areas; Seas 1-2 feet over open waters.

Monday 4th – Partly Sunny and Warm during the day with; Maximum Temperature 89°F. Mostly Fair at night with a Slight chance of an Isolated Shower; Minimum Temperature 77°F. Winds SW-W, 5-10 knots in the Northwest; Seas 1-2 feet over open waters. Winds SE-S, 5-10 knots in the Central and Southeast Bahamas; Seas 1-2 feet over open waters.

Tuesday 5th – Mostly to Partly Sunny and Warm during the day with Isolated Showers and Thunderstorms mainly during the late morning/early afternoon hours; Maximum Temperature 90°F. Mostly Fair at night with Isolated Showers; Minimum Temperature 77°F. Winds S-SW, 15 knots in the Northwest Bahamas; Seas 3-5 feet over open waters. Winds and SE-S, 10-15 knots in the Central and Southeast Bahamas; Seas 2-4 feet over open waters.

Wednesday 6th – Partly Sunny and Warm during the day with Isolated Showers and Thunderstorms particularly across the Northwest Bahamas; Maximum Temperature 89°F. Partly Cloudy at night with Isolated Showers and a Slight chance of an Isolated Thunderstorm mainly across the Extreme Northern Islands; Minimum Temperature 77°F.
