LPIA congestion adds to airline performance times

An improvement in Bahamasair's On Time Performance(OTP)for the summer has come no thanks to congestion at the Lynden Pindling International Airport(LPIA),Guardianâ Businesshas learned, with the issue cited as a factor in the airline's ratings.
"On Time Performance improved despite the congestion at LPIA check in and U.S. customs clearance,"Deputy General Manager Van Diah said."Even though you may want to operate on time, during the summer when all the airlines are trying to get through there is a bottleneck in the customs lounge and that makes it congested at the Nassau airport."
