For the second consecutive year, CIBC FirstCaribbean is a platinum sponsor, donating $10,000 to the Bahamas International Film Festival's Corporate Golf Invitational.
The tournament will be held at Albany's 18-hole championship golf course designed by Ernie Els. With CIBC FirstCaribbean's sponsorship, golfers enjoy a great game on a world-class golf course. CIBC FirstCaribbean will also provide the players with gift bags filled with golfing gear. The event takes place on June 8.
CIBC FirstCaribbean Retail Director Richard Phillips said: "CIBC FirstCaribbean is delighted to continue to assist BIFF with hosting the 2nd Annual Corporate Golf Invitational. We are pleased to assist and support BIFF's work, especially when the youth are involved. Supporting noteworthy activities within the communities in which we operate is key to our success, and this is a great opportunity to show our support."
This year's tournament promises to be even more exciting than 2011 and over 50 golfers are expected to participate. CIBC FirstCaribbean will be well represented at the event with a team of four enthusiastic golfers poised to win the hole-in-one prize of a Mercedes Benz. Senior leaders will also attend the event.
Receiving the check on BIFF's behalf, BIFF founder and executive Leslie Vanderpool said: "We welcome CIBC FirstCaribbean's participation at this significant level for the second consecutive year. With the bank's support, BIFF is better able to support and promote the arts, independent film and culture within The Bahamas and the world."
In 2011, CIBC FirstCaribbean also invested in BIFF's work through its sponsorship of the youth film workshop and monthly film viewing for a select audience.
