A 34-year-old Quakoo Street resident was remanded to prison on a rape charge.
Rhyan Lamont Pinder, 34, appeared before Magistrate Carolyn Vogt-Evans on charges that he had non-consensual sex with a woman on April 24.
Pinder was not required to enter a plea to the charge at his arraignment.
He faces another charge of causing harm to the alleged rape victim on the same date.
Pinder denied that allegation.
Vogt-Evans remanded Pinder to prison on the rape charge because an amendment to the Bail Act removed her jurisdiction to grant bail for the offense.
However, she set Pinder's bail at $3,000 on the causing harm charge.
Pinder returns to court on June 15.
