Scores of candidates have modest assets

While 56 millionaires nominated on Tuesday for the May 7 general election, scores of other candidates have modest assets, according to the financial disclosure forms they submitted.
Rodney Moncur, the Democratic National Alliance (DNA) candidate for Bains Town and Grants Town, listed his net worth at $326,470.
Listed among his property were a New Oxford dictionary, which he said is worth $500, and various fruit trees worth $5,670, including a Sapodilla tree worth $300; a hog plum tree worth $300 and six banana trees worth $120.
According to his declaration, Moncur, a taxi driver, earns $60 per week and has $200 in his savings account. He listed his real estate holdings at $365,000 and said he has a car worth $15,000. Moncur's liabilities are listed at $44,900.
Howard Grant Jr., the DNA's candidate for Central Grand Bahama, has a net worth of $4,350, according to his financial declaration. Grant said he has $1,500 in his savings account, $850 in his current account and an annual salary of $67,000.
His total assets are worth $53,350 and his liabilities are listed at $49,000.

Jay Armbrister, an independent candidate in Elizabeth, listed his net worth at $1,441.31.
Osman Johnson, the DNA's candidate for Pineridge, has a net worth of $20,725.22 with an annual salary of $81,508.
His assets total $25,000 and his liabilities are listed at $4,274. He listed no cash in his savings account but declared $6,910.33 in his current account.
Howard Johnson, the Free National Movement's (FNM) candidate for Central and South Eleuthera, declared no annual salary but said he has a net worth of $119,578.15.
Johnson, a post-graduate student, said he had $2,700 in his savings account; $3,375.15 in his current account; $23,000 in securities; $173,000 in real estate; and a car worth $10,500. His liabilities are listed at $93,000.
Sonith O'Kell Lockhart, an electrical technician running in North Abaco, listed his total assets at $51,317.14. He did not disclose his annual salary but said his debts amounted to $3,912.43.
Lockhart said he had $17.14 in his savings account, $19,000 in accounts receivable; $25,000 in real estate and an automobile worth $7,300.
Picewell Forbes, the Progressive Liberal Party's (PLP) candidate for Mangrove Cay and South Andros, has a net worth of $37,961 and total liabilities amounting to just over $369,000.
Forbes said he had $3,236 in his current account; $11,000 in accounts receivable; $386,000 in real estate; and an automobile worth $7,400.
His annual salary is $58,000 and he has other income amounting to $18,000.
