Provost Marshal Ellison Greenslade read a second proclamation on the steps of the House of Assembly at 4pm announcing that Parliament will reconvene May 23, 2012, the fifth anniversary of the first sitting of Parliament in the current term. Greeslade read another proclamation around 2 pm announcing Parliament has been dissolved.

The prime minister will announce the election date in a national address at 8pm.
