SEVEN DAY WEATHER FORECAST FROM 10TH – 16TH April, 2012

GENERAL SITUATION: A WEAK RIDGE OF HIGH PRESSURE DRAPED ACROSS THE BAHAMAS WILL SHIFT SOUTH AND EAST AS A WEAK FRONTAL BOUNDARY APPROACHES THE NORTHERN BAHAMAS LATE WENESDAY NIGHT. THE FRONTAL BOUNDARY WILL MERGE WITH A RETROGRESSING BOUNDARY IN THE SOUTHERN BAHAMAS ON FRIDAY. BEHIND THE FRONT A FAIRLY STRONG HIGH PRESSURE CENTER WILL BUILD EASTWARD ACROSS THE BAHMAS RESULTING IN BREEZY TO OCCASIONALLY WINDY CONDITIONS.

Tuesday 10th – Partly Sunny, and Warm during the day in the Northwest and Central Bahamas, Mostly Cloudy in the Southeast Bahamas with an occasional Scattered Shower or Two; Maximum Temperature 81°F. Mainly Fair and Mild in the Northwest and Central Bahamas at night, Partly Cloudy with Isolated Showers in the Southeast Bahamas; Minimum Temperature 66ºF. Winds E’LY 10-15 knots in the Northwest Bahamas during day shifting to E-SE 10-15 knots at night; Seas 2-4 feet over open waters. Winds NE-E 15 knots in the Central and Southeast Bahamas; Seas 3-5 feet near shore but up to 7 feet along the east coast of the eastern islands in NE’LY swells. Small craft should exercise caution in the Central and Southeast Islands.

Wednesday 11th – Partly Sunny and Warm during the day with a Few Scattered Showers mainly in the Central and Southeast Bahamas; Maximum Temperature 83°F. Mainly Fair to Partly Cloudy at night with Isolated Showers mainly over the extreme Northern and Southern Islands; Minimum Temperature 68°F. Winds SSE-SSW 10 knots or less in the Northwest Bahamas; Seas 1-3 feet over open waters. Winds ENE-ESE 10-15 knots in the Central and Southeast Bahamas; Seas 2-4 feet over open waters.

Thursday 12th – Partly Sunny and Warm during the day with a slight chance of Isolated Showers becoming a bit Breezy by late afternoon; Maximum temperature 82°F. Partly Cloudy and Breezy at night with Few passing Showers; Minimum Temperature 68°F. Winds N-NE 10-15 knots during the day over all areas; Seas 2-4 feet over open waters. Winds NE’LY 15-20 knots at night; Seas 4-6 feet over open waters. Small craft caution is in effect for ALL areas.
