FREEPORT, Grand Bahama Island (
April 4, 2012) -

The Grand Bahama Power Company wishes to
advise the public that due to a traffic accident involving a heavy duty
vehicle damaging a transmission pole, power had to be disrupted to a
critical feeder that supplies power to the hospital in order to carry
out the necessary repairs. We have been working with officials at the
hospital to ensure minimum impact. Other affected areas are:

Parts of downtown; Hudson Estates; Columbus Park; Nansen Avenue; Pioneers Loop; Yeoman Wood; and Grasmere.

Our crews are working diligently to resolve the issue
and full power is expected...
