Walk with attitude

It's all about attitude!
If you have what it takes to rip the runway then Yodephy Dance and Modeling School will host a walkout with the winner participating in an international fashion show and compete for dance and modeling scholarships.
The model search and walkout will be staged at the Mall at Marathon on Saturday, February 4 at 3 p.m. Garraway will be looking for three candidates - two will win one-year scholarships to Yodephy, and one will be flown to Bermuda to participate in the "Some Like it Hot" fashion show at the Fairmont South Hampton Princess Hotel by Mario Dismont from Spectrum Productions on Saturday, April 6.
As long as they have a passion for the art they are the perfect candidates for the event says organizer Phyllis Garraway, co-owner of Yodephy.
"I am excited about the event and can't wait to see the talent coming our way. It's important to get everyone involved and not just Yodephy students. Whether candidates win or not young girls interested in this field need to have this experience under their belt. It's about confidence and being beautiful."
While the first segment to win the scholarship is open to all participants - no matter the height or experience, the second and more highly anticipated part of the show for the international fashion show invites models five feet, nine inches or taller with modeling experience to compete for the opportunity to rip the runway internationally.
"This is an experience of a lifetime," says Garraway. "It is not a competition. It's just an opportunity we want to give a lucky young lady who meets our requirements and has a special flare that cannot be ignored. This winner will be paid $1,500 for participating in the international fashion show and receive airfare to and from Bermuda, and hotel accommodations will be covered. She will also have a per diem of $150 to spend on the trip," says Garraway. "She will be able to fly in a day or two before the competition to see the country itself and really take advantage of flying so far. This is a wonderful opportunity. And the beauty of this is that all the young ladies who are interested have to do is show up on Saturday and show us what they can do."
Garraway says the upcoming walkout is something that both the more privileged and the less fortunate dreamer can aspire to winning because this competition is based on talent alone.
"There are so many talented and tall young ladies who can really make it in the field of modeling with training and they just need a push. This is why we are hosting this event so we can gauge what is out there and give scholarships and opportunities to the young lady who wouldn't have had a chance otherwise."
The organizer advises all girls to come with attitude because the competition will be fierce. She urges them to do their best to stand out because even if they have never had any experience on the runway before, their personality and passion will shine through.
To properly enter this competition young ladies have to wear skinny leg or regular jeans, white shirts/blouses and pumps. The walkout is open to young ladies from the age of five to adult. Little girls can wear ordinary shoes with a height their parents find appropriate.
