Grand Bahama Police arrest man for robbery with violence

Freeport, Grand Bahama Island -This morning, Tuesday
10th January, 2012, a 41 year old man of Freeport who was arrested by
police for robbery with violence, is now detained on the Diah Ward at
the Rand Memorial Hospital.

The
police responded to a call received at 3:34pm on Monday 9th January,
2012 in relation to a robbery at one of the local tour companies in the
Port Lucaya Market Place. It was reported that the accused man entered
the business establishment and started screaming demands to the female
employees. During this time, the suspect reached across the counter and
stole cash and when one of the employees attempted to stop him, he
punched her in the face. However, the second employee ran for help and
the man was subdued until the police arrived.
