Business Licence reforms designed as 'tax neutral'

THE Government's Business Licence Act reforms were intended to be "tax neutral", Tribune Business was told yesterday, as Bahamian Contractors Association (BCA) representatives left a meeting with a key government minister "comfortably satisfied" that their concerns over a 50 per cent increase in Business Licence fee had been heard.

Stephen Wrinkle, the BCA president, said yesterday's meeting between Bahamian contractors and Zhivargo Laing, the minister of state for finance, which was organised through the Bahamas Chamber of Commerce, "went very well. We were very well received".
