The Kennedy constituency branch of the Progressive Liberal Party(PLP)has selected attorney Derek Ryan as the person it wishes the party to select as its next candidate at the next general election, party sources said.
At the branch meeting, which was held on Monday night at Cleveland Eneas Primary School, Ryan was selected over attorney Dion Smith. Smith was considered the other front-runner to secure the nomination.
Ryan has been working in the constituency for several years, a party source said, and he has control over the branch.
