Eight years ago, Bahamian baseball was caught up in a vortex of controversies. The negative feedback from personal agendas and constant infighting within the local baseball family had the sport whirling and dizzy.
In 2002 when the Progressive Liberal Party Government began its five-year term in office, one of the first item the then Sports Minister Neville Wisdom addressed was baseball. He wanted to regulate the sport. There were obstacles however. Firstly, governments have no control whatsoever over sports federations. They are subservient only to the respective international bodies.
