Macedonia Take Three In BSC Action

While Macedonia pulled off a triple-header on Saturday as the Baptist Sports Council (BSC) continued its 2011 Bishop Neil C. Ellis Softball Classic at the Baillou Hills Sporting Complex, Mt. Tabor Full Gospel didn't fare so well as they dropped their triple-header.

Macedonia men knocked off Temple Fellowship, 10-2, between their 10-7 triumph over Mt. Tabor and 13-8 decision over Christian Tabernacle to move in contention for a playoff spot in two divisions. Mt. Tabor, on the other hand, lost another co-ed game, 10-7, to divisional leaders and runners-up Golden Gates before they suffered a 16-7 defeat at the hands of co-men's divisional leaders and defending champions Calvary Deliverance.

Also on Saturday, Golden Gates men blanked Temple Baptist, 11-0, to stay even with Calvary Deliverance at the top of the standings. During the week, the BSC played four games with Golden Gates blanking Mt. Tabor, 12-0, and Calvary Deliverance holding off Macedonia, 10-4, on Thursday night. On Tuesday night, Golden Gates out-slugged St. Paul's, 12-8, and Temple Fellowship routed Temple Baptist, 19-1.

Angelo Butler, Lance Thompson and Wayde Bain all had two hits, scoring a run each for Temple Fellowship men. Zach Rahming was the winning pitcher and Harold 'Banker' Fritzgerald got the loss. Eddie Rolle was 2-for-2 with two runs scored in a losing effort.

Christian Tabernacle 8

Pamela Capron was 3-for-4 with a RBI and two runs scored and D'Kyle Rolle had a solo in-the-park home-run for Macedonia co-ed team. Cardinal Gilbert got the win and Andy Sands picked up the loss. Kendal Rolle was 2-for-4 with a two-run in-the-park homer in a losing effort.
Macedonia 10, Temple Fellowship 2

Jaray Fernander was 3-for-4 with two runs scored and Ray Johnson had a two-run triple, scoring two runs for Macedonia men. Cardinal Gilbert got the win and Vernon Bowles suffered the loss.

Macedonia 10, Mt. Tabor 7

Winning pitcher Michael Ingraham had a perfect 3-for-3 day on Saturday with two RBIs, scoring a run for Macedonia's co-ed team. Andrika Curry was 2-for-4 with a RBI and a run scored. Losing pitcher David Brown went 1-for-3 with a RBI and run scored.
Calvary Deliverance 16, Mt. Tabor 7

Jayson Clarke had a perfect 4-for-4 on Saturday with a RBI, scoring four times for Calvary Deliverance men. Winning pitcher Brad Wood Jr. was 3-for-4 with three RBIs, scoring three times. David Brown got the loss and Andre Wood Jr. was 2-for-4 with two runs scored.
Golden Gates 10, Mt. Tabor 7

Winning pitcher Ken Wood Jr. was 2-for-3, scoring a run and Ramon Johnson was 2-for-2 with two runs scored for Golden Gates men's victory on Saturday. David Brown was tagged with the loss. Brown and Alicia Rahming both had two hits, scoring twice in a losing effort.
Golden Gates 11, Temple Baptist 0

Winning pitcher Ken Wood Jr. gave up two hits and struck out the same amount, while helping his cause by going 1-for-3 with a RBI and two runs scored and Anton Rolle was 2-for-3 with a solo in-the-park homer, scoring three runs for Golden Gates men on Saturday. Burlington Moss suffered the loss and Nick Rolle and Alfred Brown both got a hit in a losing effort.
Golden Gates 12, Mt. Tabor 0

Junior Moss spun a one-hitter with a strike out and Ken Wood Jr. went 2-for-3 with a RBI, scoring twice to lead Golden Gates on Thursday night. Carlton Bastian got the only hit as Tommy Thurston was charged with the loss from the mound.
Calvary Deliverance 10, Macedonia 4

Brad Wood Jr. and Jayson Clarke both went 2-for-3 with two RBIs, scoring two and one run respectively on Thursday night for Calvary Deliverance. Danny Stubbs was the winning pitcher and Maitland Demeritte was tagged with the loss. Zhivargo Archer went 2-for-3 with a run scored for Macedonia.
Golden Gates 12, St. Paul's 8

Ken Wood Jr. was 3-for-4 with a RBI and two runs scored and both Eugene Pratt and Ramon Johnson were 2-for-4 with a RBI each, scoring three and two runs respectively for Golden Gates men on Tuesday night. Junior Moss was the winning pitcher and Harold 'Banker' Fritzgerald got the loss.
Temple Fellowship 19, Temple Baptist 1

In the battle of the Temples, Rudolph Fox was 3-for-3 with two runs batted in and three runs scored, while Keiron Sands and winning pitcher Zach Rahming with both 2-for-3 with two RBIs and as many runs scored apiece to pace Temple Fellowship on Tuesday night. Desmond Knowles walked and scored the only run for Temple Baptist. Burlington Moss was tagged with the loss.
