Canadian Pair Charged With Fraud

TWO Canadians were charged before Magistrate's Court yesterday afternoon in connection with an attempt to obtain more than $250,000 under false pretences from a bank.

Michael Rooney, 38, of Brampton, Ontario, and Mihai Stoichoi, 42, of Ancaster, Ontario, were arraigned before Deputy Chief Magistrate Carolita Bethel and charged with 18 fraud related offences alleged to have been committed in the span of nine days since October 30.
