Under the theme "The Joy of Giving, Celebrating 50 Years of Rotary in The Bahamas," The Rotary Club of West Nassau will stage its 38th Annual Night of Christmas Music Concert.  The event will be held on Sunday, December 4, at the Rain Forest Theatre at The Crystal Palace Resort & Casino, Cable Beach at 8 p.m.

The concert will feature a variety of artists including the The Royal Bahamas Police Force Band, Freddie Munnings Jr., The Rotary Club of West Nassau Glee Club, Forever One, Nathan Stone, Sidney Sawyer, Patrick Lightbourne and other artists.  The program is one of the many fundraising events put on by the Club.  Net proceeds are donated to various charities.

Since 1970, the West Nassau Club has completed a number of community projects.  They've built cement access ramps for paraplegic persons.  They purchased a horse box trailer for the Bahamas Humane Society, in cooperation with other Rotary Clubs, and provided funds for the purchase of the first rescue vessel to be used by Bahamas Air Sea Rescue (BASRA).

They made cash donations to the Bahamas Scout Association towards building a headquarters, provided audio equipment to the Royal Bahamas Police Force Band, built a wing for the Persis Rodgers Home for the Aged at a cost of $45,000, and renovated the Red Cross drop-in Centre on Baillou Hill Road.

They joined other Rotary Clubs of The Bahamas in the successful Hands Across The Bahamas Project, raising funds to construct the detoxification center at Sandilands at a cost of $300,000.  And in 2010, they held a successful spring raffle and cash donations to various institutions including Program SURE, Children's Emergency Hostel, Bilney Lane School, Persis Rodgers Home for the Aged, BTVI Scholarships and other Rotary Projects.
