Bringing Back Faith and Hope

Under the theme "Shaken That The Unshakeable Might Remain", the women's ministry of Evangelistic Temple will convene their 10th annual Women After the Heart of God Conference.

The conference will be held November 9-11, nightly at the church on 4th Terrace and Collins Avenue, Centreville, culminating with a prayer breakfast on Saturday, November 12 at 8 a.m. at the Temple Christian High School on Shirley Street.

Women from all walks of life, in need of an encouraging word who are struggling to survive in this most difficult time are invited to attend the conference which aims to bring back faith and hope to a dying helpless world.

Conference speakers include Elder Minalee Hanchell of The People's Assembly and executive director of Great Commission Ministries; Reverend Cynthia Pratt, assistant pastor at Prayer and Praise Assembly; and Minister Lavette McFall of Bethel Baptist Church.  Minister Carnetta Ferguson of the Church of God of Prophecy will close the conference at the prayer breakfast.

Wendy Cash, president of the Women's Ministries, anticipates sessions to be charged with the glory and life transforming power of God.

It is her belief that the conference theme sends a clear message to the body of Christ to prepare women for the final event of His coming.

"In these tumultuous times that we are living, we need not be paralyzed by fear, or surprised by what we see or hear as we can hold fast to the fact that the all-knowing, ever-present God of the universe will not only provide peace, but also protection and stabilization as we go through our shaking moments," said Cash.

She said that God's message to women in these critical times is that in preparation for His second coming, He wants them to "shake off the unscriptural, unprofitable and unproductive things in their lives such as ungodliness, bitterness, sexual immorality and the like, and replace them with the significant, unshakeable things of God such as peace, hope and true brotherly love.  If we accept and act on His word, we will be aptly prepared in Him to help bring the needed deliverance to our hurting nation."

While women are the conference's main focus, an effort has been made in recent years to include the entire family and nursery and child care will be provided.  The conference is free. For further information, contact the church office at 322-8304.
