Extra bail terms to guard witness

THE Court of Appeal ordered additional conditions be put on the bail terms of a man accused of a 2009 murder, in an effort to negate the risk of the accused interfering with a key witness to the incident.

During yesterday's appeal hearing, 27-year-old Kevin Dawkins - who was recently granted bail in the Supreme Court by Senior Justice Jon Isaacs - was told by appellate court Justices Christopher Blackman, Stanley John and Abdulai Conteh, that his movements would have to be electronically monitored. He was also told that he could not leave New Providence.

His original bail conditions only stated that he was not to leave the country without permissio ...
