MIXED REVIEWS FOR DOWNTOWN

DOWNTOWN Nassau is getting mixed reviews from the people who work in the historic city centre.

The Downtown Nassau Partnership (DNP) has been in existence for almost five years, but Bay Street merchants disagree on how well it has done in terms of improving the downtown area.

The DNP's mandate is to restore some aspects of Old Nassau while reflecting newer multicultural developments as well.

According to DNP representative Gevon Moss, the organisation holds monthly meetings with shop keepers, BEC personnel and social services workers in an effort "to deal with criminal elements, vagrants and other concerns".
