CLIMATE CHANGE THREAT UNDER DISCUSSION AT UN CONFERENCE

A UNITED Nations conference on the many threats small island countries like the Bahamas face from climate change was convened in the capital yesterday.

Minister of Education Desmond Bannister officially opened the UNESCO Experts Meeting on Climate Change Education for Sustainable Development and Adaptation in Small Island Developing States, at the Wyndham Nassau Resort on Cable Beach.

The three-day conference will concentrate on developing strategies for informing the public in small island states about the threat of climate change and how best to mitigate its effects.
