REDUCED load factors and increased energy production using Bunker C fuel should soon reduce the fuel charge component on Bahamas Electricity Corporation (BEC) bills, its chairman told Tribune Business yesterday, helping to mitigate world oil price volatility.
Explaining that BEC's daily peak load had fallen from around 233-235 MegaWatts (MW) to around 218MW on Friday, Michael Moss said that up to a "couple of weeks ago" he had been confident declining oil prices would be reflected in residential and customer bills in about "a month's time".
