The class of 2011, who find themselves in universities such as Yale, Georgetown, Ohio State University, Savannah College of Art and Design, and the University of Richmond, were represented at the tree planting ceremony by graduate Celine Frey and parent of graduate Felicia Taylor, Mrs. Rose-Marie Taylor.
LCIS Principal, Ms. Stacey Bobo commented on the gift, "This class of eight individuals, LCIS's sixth graduating class, was awarded over $824,000 in academic scholarship support which, not only demonstrates how hard they worked, but how rigorous, and respected, our academic program is at first class universities around the world.  I am delighted that they have decided to give back in this special way."
The class chose to plant a native jacaranda tree that was planted along with a penny with the year of the graduating class. The tree itself symbolizes the growth of the seniors within the School and their continued growth, contributions, and achievements after they leave.
