Sorority Responds to Uniform Needs

Sm-AKA.URBANRENEWAL.UNIFORMDONATION.SEPT5.2011.jpg Just in time for the first day of school and as a response to weak economic conditions that make it difficult for some families to afford back-to-school uniforms, members of the Pi Upsilon Omega Chapter of the illustrious Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated, have gifted three lucky female students with the necessary tools and fabric to craft three new skirts.

The Urban Renewal Centre of Pineridge activated a sewing programme for students, offering the opportunity to not only prepare for the first day of school but to learn a lifelong skill in the process.
