Bruno Mars --the singer who brought you hot summer hits like "The Lazy Song", "Just the Way You Are" and "Grenade" will be making this weekend in paradise a little more golden when he hits Bahamian shores to perform his first local concert on Saturday, September 3 in the Atlantis Imperial Ballroom.
The performance is part of the Atlantis LIVE concert series, known for hosting some of the most popular names in music.  Previous artists include Justin Bieber, Taylor Swift, The Jonas Brothers, The Band from TV and Katy Perry.
This time around you can expect a truly sensational event as organizers are already anticipating it will be a mind-blowing experience and a real crowd pleaser.
Concerts are usually held in the Grand Ballroom but organizers have decided to hold the Mars concert in the more spacious Imperial Ballroom due to the anticipated popularity of the event.
Sr VP, Special Events and Entertainment at Atlantis Michele Wiltshire says Mars is the hottest act in the market right now, he is not over exposed and is on the cusp of a huge career.
"His appeal transcends all age groups.  He is truly an act that appeals to the whole family.  All these things make him perfect for Atlantis LIVE.  Bruno is a very talented musician and guests can expect a great performance by him and his amazing band.  They will experience really fun showmanship, energy and a very special stage presence."
Mars is expected to bring the house down with excerpts from his own arsenal as well as renditions from recent music collaborations with other musicians like rapper B.o.B, Cee Lo Green, Bad Meets Evil and Travie McCoy in their songs, "Nothing on You", "The Other Side", "Lighters" and "Billionaire", respectively.
Since the beginning of the Atlantis LIVE concert series more locals appear to be interested in the events and some have become loyal fans.
Attending this concert will be another highlight of a truly amazing summer for avid contemporary music fan, Wyneth Colebrooke. The 20-year-old says although she has attended numerous Atlantis LIVE concerts this is the one she is the most excited about.
"I don't know what to do with myself.  I am so excited.  Bruno Mars will be here and I will be able to see him.  That is a dream come true," she says.  "From he came out about a year ago I have been absolutely in love with him and this is such a great opportunity to see him live and at home.  I have been to other Atlantis LIVE concerts like Avril Lavigne, Sheryl Crowe and Taylor Swift but this concert is the one I absolutely have to attend.  I can just imagine him now singing to me, especially since the room is really small.  This is going to be great.  Just marvelous."
Bruno Mars fan, Christian Bowe, says he has always been impressed with Mars and is glad for the opportunity to see him perform live.
"Bruno Mars was on my radar before he became a mainstream performer.  He did great work as a songwriter and producer.  So I saw great potential from him artistically," says the 28-year-old.  "His family's musical influences and his own charisma and personality really set him apart from other artists to me.  He has done great collaborations with other artists like B.o.B. and Cee Lo and I am looking forward to other such works.  He has never tried too hard to be someone the industry wants him to be so I am excited to see just how cool his first local concert will be.  I'm expecting a stellar performance since he is a stellar musician.  I am sure anyone who comes, whether they know about Mars or not, will not be disappointed."
