Mark Knowles and Xavier Malisse's reunion didn't have such a happy ending as they were swept in two sets in the first round of the Western & Southern Open in Cincinnati, Ohio.

Late Monday night, the duo lost 6-4, 7-5 to the team of Scott Lipsky of the US and Bruno Soares from Brazil.

"We didn't play well. It wasn't a great match. It was a very disappointing match," Knowles told The Tribune yesterday.
