Nassau, Bahamas - Thousands of Bahamians will
be able to access free medications for chronic diseases through Phase 1
of the FNM Government's landmark prescription drug programme.

The National Prescription Drug Programme is a fulfillment of one of the
FNM's pledges made in Manifesto 2007.

This National Insurance Board plan will relieve the burden thousands of
Bahamians face in acquiring necessary medications to treat chronic
diseases.

In Phase 1 of the plan, the following persons will be able to obtain
free medication from participating private pharmacies and from
government hospitals an clinics:
