The scene in the Bullion bar at the British Colonial Hilton is already the cool relaxed vibe that you're looking for. Add in the soothing jazz vocals of Naomi Taylor backed by the band Vice Versa to listen to as you sip on a delicious libation and you've got two evenings known as Jazz at the Hilton on Tuesday and Thursday evenings.

"Jazz at the Hilton" is a really nice evening after a long busy work day and you're not ready to go home," says the sales and marketing manager at the Hilton, Latoya Hanna-Moxey  "It's between happy hour meets the start of the evening and a good compromise because you're not out too late."

Taylor and Vice Versa's performance kicks off at 6:30 p.m. every Tuesday and Thursday for a two-hour block. Taylor performs a mixture from a wide genre of music from R&B, Pop, Soft Rock, Jazz and even some Bahamian in her bluesy vocals.  There are even request cards offered so that people can ask her to perform their favorite song.

This is not the first musical act that the Hilton has offered. Over the years, a number of groups have rocked out the Palm Court Lounge, but Taylor and Vice Versa are the first group to actually perform in Bullion.

"The whole mood of the Bullion room is just very nice and relaxing after a long day, and we wanted the music and group to reflect that," said  Hanna-Moxey.  "Bullion is a nice lounge for relaxing and after-work mingling and networking, and we didn't want to create a club setting or anything that was too upbeat. We wanted clients to be able to enjoy the music while they have their cocktails and conversation and we've produced a really good mix that's not overpowering or overwhelming."

The Hilton sales and marketing manager says the performance you can expect is soft, subtle and complementary to the evening for people who are enjoying each other's company in Bullion.
As for the Tuesday and Thursday nights, Hanna-Moxey says the decision was for no other reason than to give people soothing entertainment on nights that are a little slower, and allow them to mellow out through the week if they wanted to.  "We thought it would be good to fill the Tuesday and Thursday night with Naomi Taylor, and the crowd really likes her."  Taylor along with Vice Versa have been performing twice a week at the Hilton since October of 2010.
