Doberman Looking for a New Home!

Thu, Jun 30th 2011, 11:02 AM

Hi My Name Is ROBIN: I am a very sweet Doberman...Probably about 3 years old...At least that's what my vet has guessed me at.

I have had a very rough life, I belonged to a breeder, I don"t think he was very nice to me because when I hear sudden , unexpected noises, I cringe.... Somebody cut off my left ear, rather badly too, Gosh that must have hurt a lot because I bet they didn't bother with an anesthetic! Probably just held me down and used scissors! Ouch!

I think I must have had an id tattoo on my ear...May be I was stolen a long time ago...I wish I could tell you more, my eyes tell you that I have had a very rough life...I am still young but tired right now.

The people that had me before I came to the Humane Society tried to breed me, but I am not a good breeder. I didn't produce enough puppies (thank goodness!) so they threw me away...I guess that I am lucky they brought me to the Bahamas Humane Society shelter...and not tied me to a tree in the bush to starve...

I have been at a wonderful foster home...When I arrived i would not hold up my head and stayed in a corner...My foster family have helped me to get back my self esteem and hold my heat up, which i do now with pride.

I can now wag my little tail...I actually, for the first time in my life, have something to wag about...These lovely and wonderful people who have helped give me my life back as fosters, are leaving Nassau next week.... Their Nassau job is over, and their job with me is pretty much done too, I am ready for a forever home....I am a very mellow lady, I like to lie in the sun, and rest on the cool tiles in the house...I am house trained... I am grateful.. What I really want is a forever home...Where i will be loved and never have to worry again about being bred (I have been spayed), starved, cut or beaten....Do you have a spot in your home and life for me ?...

I will be faithful, quiet and grateful....I will reward you with love and loyalty for the rest of my canine life... I am still on heart-worm medication, but am tolerating it well and responding well to it.... I had mange but as you see my fur is going back very well..

Like I said at the beginning of this letter: My name is Robin and i am a very sweet Doberman, looking for a forever home...Please adopt me! I REALLY need you to!

PS. Please call Fiona at the shelter 323 5138 if you think you can help me! Oh yes...I had a human write this for me, dictation is the way to go!
