AFTER taking about a month off to welcome their first daughter into the world, Mark Knowles said he is realizing that there's more to life than playing as he makes his return to action on the ATP Tour this week.

Knowles and Michal Mertinak, the No.8 seeds, have been awarded a bye in the first round and are now preparing to play their second round match against American Eric Butorac and Jean-Julien Rojer on Thursday.

"It will be a tough match because we lost to them in the second round at the Australian Open," said Knowles yesterday in an interview from his hotel room in Barcelona.
