Leevan 'Superman' Sands is back, posting a world leading jump and an automatic qualifying performance for the IAAF World Championships in the process.
He fell short of breaking his national record, but Sands couldn't ask for a better season opener in the men's triple jump at the War Eagle Invitational at the Hutsell-Rosen Track in Auburn on Saturday.
Sands soared 17.39 metres or 57-feet, 3/4-inches to not only win the event, but also surge on top of the world standings. Meanwhile, his Auburn connection team-mate Donald Thomas was surpassed by two Americans in the men's high jump at the 53rd Mt SAC Relays ...
