A 49-year-old building contractor accused of killing Nellie Mae Brown-Cox appeared before a magistrate yesterday.
Police allege that Prince Hepburn chopped Brown-Cox to death with a cutlass sometime between April 6 and 7.
Police found her mutilated body in the kitchen of an apartment on Bougainvillea Avenue, South Beach.
Hepburn appeared before Chief Magistrate Roger Gomez shortly after his discharge from the Princess Margaret Hospital for alleged selfinflicted
injuries to both hands.
Shackled at the feet, Hepburn shuffled into the courtroom with his bandaged arms stretched in front of him.
Police could not handcuff Hepburn because of the bandages.
