Government hands out free CFL bulbs in Pinewood

Nassau, The Bahamas - Hundreds of energy conscious Bahamians lined up at Pinewood Park to receive their share of five free Government issued Compact Florescent (CFL) bulbs.

The exercise is targeted to condition Bahamians to adapt an energy reduction awareness within their daily activities.

"We are giving out today the Compact Florescent light bulbs to individuals who in return give us the old incandescent light bulbs. The Compact Fluorescent light bulbs are more energy efficient. They can save up to 75 percent energy in terms of lighting in your homes," said Phenton Neymour, Minister of State for the Environment...
