Oyster Publications (Bahamas) Limited Hosts 3rd Annual Women?s Empowerment Summit.

Oyster Publications (Bahamas) Limited, an integral part of the Caribbean women's 'Embrace Your Power' movement, announces a Women's Empowerment Summit, utilizing key tools proven for modern day change, to be held in Nassau, Bahamas on Wednesday, April 27, 2011.

In observance of the advances and history of women throughout The Bahamas and the Caribbean region, this critical activity aims to synthesize full participation of more than 400 individuals and groups from all sectors in human capital development, with motivational workshops, exhibitions, cultural performances, and networking to empower women and aspiring young girls to live their best lives, socially, financially and professionally. Invited guest speakers will comprise recognized local and international professionals who will provide leadership tools proven relevant to effect break-through change for a new global economy.

“The advice on 'The Power of Creating Wealth in a Troubled Economy' is worth a hundred times the price of attending,” says Bahamian Managing Director of Oyster Publications (Bahamas) Limited, Portia Harrigan. Awards will be given in three categories: The Bahamas Business Woman of the Year Award; The Bahamas Female Youth Leadership Award; and the Regional Female Leadership Award. Next week, International Women's Day (IWD) on March 8, is a global holiday celebrating 100 years of economic, social, gender equality, and political achievement for women and the Women’s Empowerment Summit seeks to build on these accomplishments, while sensitizing women to the need for their full involvement in the further socio-economic development of the Bahamas and the wider Caribbean.
