Author and former Miss Bahamas, Darlene Davis-Hord recently launched her first book, ‘Dwelling In The Secret Place’ to rave reviews at the Logos Bookstore, at the Harbour Bay Shopping Plaza in Nassau.

The book, which presents an intimate walk with God through prayer is dedicated to her late father Donald W. Davis, mother Dolores Joyce Cooper-Davis and her spiritual daddy the late Dr. Myles E. Munroe.

An ordained minister at The Faith Center in Sunrise, Florida and an instructor at the Henry B. Fernandez Institute, Davis-Hord attributes the inspiration for her book on prayer, to her passion and gift of intercessory prayer for nation world leaders.

“This book launch and book-signing was one of the best book launches we have ever had and best Saturday in a long time”, said Rick Munroe, Manager of Logos Bookstore.

Davis-Hord, who also presented copies of her book to the Prime Minister of The Bahamas the Hon. Perry G. Christie and Governor General of The Bahamas, Dame Marguerite Pindling, prior to the book launch at Logos Bookstore, said she “is thrilled and honored to personally present her book to her country’s leaders, and extremely grateful for the interest, love and support she has received from the citizens of The Bahamas” on her book.

“Many residents who attended the book launch heard my interviews with Brother Vaugh Miller on ZNS, or on JCN-TV, LOVE-97 and PEACE-FM stations. Not only am I appreciative of their support, their stories have further encouraged me to help others and walk into my purpose that God has pre-destined for me,” she said.

Davis-Hord is the founder of Daughters of Zion-Women of Destiny (DOZ-W0D), a five-months transformational program that helps women become Women of Destiny. DOZ recently celebrated its second High Tea Party, Graduation, and Awards ceremony at the Carolina Club Mansion, in Margate Florida at which 18 mentees between the ages of 21 and 50 years, graduated and over 300 persons attended. During the event, Davis-Hord received a special Congressional Commendation from U.S. Congresswoman Frederica S. Wilson, which acknowledged that the DOZ/WOD organization would be added into the Congressional Record, which is an unique commendation. Commendations were also extended to Davis-Hord from the Prime Minister of The Bahamas, Hon. Perry G. Christie, Commissioner Dennis C. Moss of Miami, Commissioner Dale V. C. Holness, Broward County, and Joyce Bryan, Vice Mayor, Margate.
