WO men awaiting trial on a murder charge said they would submit an alibi to the Office of the Attorney General within 21 days.

Kyle Newbold, 24, and 22-year-old Christopher McQueen, appeared in Magistrate’s Court yesterday for a voluntary bill of indictment (VBI) presentation that would fast track his case to the Supreme Court for trial in relation to the August 23 slaying of Martin Nixon.

According to initial police reports, shortly after 11pm off Blue Hill Road South, Nixon was involved in an argument with another man in front of a home that led to him being shot.

He was rushed to the hospital, but died of his injuries early the next morning.

Magistrate Constance Delancy informed the pair of the contents of the VBI and their right to enter an alibi in court or in 21 days to the Office of the Attorney General.

Both men chose the latter option and are now scheduled to appear in the Supreme Court on November 4, before Justice Bernard Turner for their formal arraignment.

It is at that hearing that he will be allowed to enter a plea to the murder charge.

Newbold and McQueen are respectively represented by attorneys Krysta Mason-Smith and Glendon Rolle.
