A 28-year-old Jet Ski operator is back behind bars after he was accused of murder for a second time.

Daran Neely, of Avocado Street, Pinewood Gardens, appeared before Magistrate Derence Rolle-Davis yesterday charged with the June 21 murder of 19-year-old Kenyari Lightbourne at Woods Alley, off Market Street.

He is the second person to be accused of Lightbourne's murder. Jahmaro Edgecombe, 21, of Big Pond, was charged with the murder in August.

Lightbourne was gunned down as he walked along the street.

Like Edgecombe, Neely was not required to enter a plea to the charge when he made his initial court appearance before Magistrate Derence Rolle-Davis.

He has been denied bail and next returns to court in December when it is expected the case will be fast-tracked to the Supreme Court.

At the time of his arrest, Neely was on bail for murder and attempted murder in relation to a 2014 incident.

Prosecutors allege that Neely fatally shot Jason Clarke at Buttonwood Street, Pinewood Gardens on January 1, 2014 and attempted to murder Michael Preval.

Neely and Rashad Laroda, 24, of Walnut Street, Pinewood Gardens, are accused of making another attempt on Preval's life on April 17, 2014.

They face another charge of having a firearm with intent to endanger the life of Edward Butler.

Neely was granted bail on those charges after Preval and Butler recanted the statements they gave to police.
