Police say that a 38-year-old man had sex with an underage boy on two occasions this month.

Kevin Pennerman, of Pinewood gardens, appeared before Magistrate Constance Delancy charged with two counts of unlawful sexual intercourse with a person of the same sex.

Prosecutors allege that Pennerman had sex with the boy, 15, on October 5 and 6.

Pennerman was not required to enter a plea to the charge and has been remanded to the Bahamas Department of Correctional Services.

He was advised of his right to apply to the Supreme Court for bail.

Pennerman returns to court in December when it is expected that the case will be fast-tracked to the Supreme Court for trial.
