Today, AML Foods Limited officials broke ground on Solomon’s Yamacraw, a new 38,000 square-foot retail outlet in Eastern New Providence. Located just opposite St. Andrew’s School on Yamacraw Hill Rd, the store is slated to open in the 4th quarter of 2017.

In August, AML began the journey of expanding its retail portfolio by purchasing a 5-acre plot to build the new outlet. The Solomon’s branded store will serve as the anchor property adjacent to a proposed commercial shopping complex.

Gavin Watchorn, President  & CEO at AML said the expansion of a familiar brand is aimed at providing greater options for customers living in the east.

“Today, we officially begin the construction phase of this project. This is an ideal time for us to expand our operations to eastern New Providence. Over the next 2-3 years, development in this area will see significant growth and we are pleased to be a part of this by adding our brand to the shopping options available.” he said.

“The store will be a blend of our current Solomon’s retail outlets and will be tailored to what our research has shown to be needed in the area. And while the building will be new, our customers can look forward to the same level of service, quality products and great value that we are known for.”

AML Foods anticipates adding 75 new jobs to their staff complement once the project is completed. The company also plans to add a Carl’s Jr. location near the Yamacraw Hill Rd. development.
