Anfernee Seymour and the Rome Braves captured the 2016 South Atlantic League title on Saturday in impressive fashion, a 6-1 victory over the Lakewood Blue Claws on the Claws' home field, FirstEnergy Park in Lakewood Township, New Jersey, USA. The Braves won the series three games to one.

After going down a run, Seymour and the Braves scored six straight to end the game.

A third inning bunt by Johnathan Morales to get on base seemingly electrified a stagnant Braves team. Following the bunt, Lakewood's Corales Duran bobbled a ball, allowing Morales to get to third. Morales went on to score on a single that evened things up at one.

Seymour gave the Braves the lead in the fifth with an RBI double to right field and Ronald Acuna added another run with a sacrifice fly. Seymour had his RBI double in his only official at-bat.

The Rome Braves went on to score three more runs in the top of the seventh to go up 6-1. They scored on a RBI double by Ray-Patrick Didder and an RBI single from Acuna.

This season marked the Braves first playoff appearance in 12 years.

Seymour became a major player in Rome's title run this season. He was traded from the Miami Marlins to the Atlanta Braves in a three-player deal. The Braves also picked up pitcher Michael Mader in exchange for relief pitcher Hunter Cervenka.

In 21 games with the Braves, Seymour hit .266 with five RBIs, an on-base percentage of .298, an on-base plus slugging percentage of.576 and six stolen bases.

Seymour was selected by the Marlins with the 197th pick in round seven of the 2014 Major League Baseball (MLB) Draft. He was the number eight ranked prospect during his time with the Marlins and is now the 19th ranked prospect in the Braves organization, which features a much deeper talent pool.
