Ignorant or arrogant

I recently put up a post on Facebook with this same theme, ignorant or arrogant. So D. Paul, what exactly were you getting at with that title? Could you perhaps elaborate here today, you may say? Sure will.

Let's face it, all of us were ignorant about many things, including life itself when we were younger, and indeed some of us are still quite ignorant when it comes to some subjects, some topics, some aspects of life. Yes indeed, as I have put it before on many occasions in these articles over the years, life is in fact a continual learning experience. There are lessons to be learned every day.

My personal belief is that the true purpose of life is to eventually reach a state of perfection so that we can return to source, to our Creator from where we originally came to live forever. However to reach this state of perfection will take us many lifetimes. So we've established that some people are ignorant about many things. However, to me that's quite natural, but what is not natural is to be downright arrogant.

That's right, unfortunately we do have a whole lot of extremely arrogant people walking around our neighborhoods today, and more's the pity as they can make life most unpleasant if one does not know how to deal with these people. One can usually spot an arrogant person as you observe their body language, and in particular their facial expression. Yes indeed, I can read them like a book.

So we've established the fact, that there are both ignorant and arrogant people that we need to deal with. We've also established that the reason why some people are ignorant is simply because they lack knowledge about some aspect of life. Well, the reason people are arrogant has also to do with the lack of knowledge of self, of how special, talented and unique we are. So in a nutshell, arrogant people have low self-esteem. Once we correct this lack of self-understanding and self-love, the arrogance will disappear.
