In July, Team Fast Forward headed to Toronto, Ontario, Canada, to compete in the 6th Annual Flying Angels Invitational Track and Field Meet. The 34-member team from The Bahamas made its presence felt at the invitational, which had athletes from the United States, Barbados, Bermuda, Jamaica and several other countries.

The two-day meet was a wonderful showcase of athleticism, sportsmanship and country pride. The athletes of Fast forward performed exceptionally well as they captured two divisional prizes and finished third overall. Nathan Moss captured the most outstanding male athlete award in the 13-14 division, and Ahmad Evans set a new high jump record in the 11-12 boys division.

Team Head Coach Everette Fraser said he was extremely proud of his athletes performances. He wishes to give his club more opportunities to compete internationally, taking them out of their comfort zone, and letting them see what it's like to compete against other athletes. The team needs funding to continue representing the club and the country overseas, and is seeking sponsorship to defray the costs for uniforms and travel expenses. The club is looking forward to having a partnership that will make this dream a reality.

The club also looks to host a meet of its own in the future.

Supporting the athletes at the meet, the Ministry of Tourism's office in Toronto provided a junkanoo contingent to cheer on the athletes.
