Anticipation for the upcoming Miss Universe Bahamas pageant continues to grow with the first event, Toast the Queen, held at ALBANY Bahamas, the official host venue of the Miss Universe Bahamas 2016 beauty pageant. Ten beautiful, graceful and intelligent young Bahamian women competing for the title of Miss Universe Bahamas were introduced at the Toast the Queen event on July 15, 2016.

The highly successful unveiling event under National Pageant Director Michelle Collie’s leadership reignited The Bahamas’ storied and proud pageant legacy.

Guests were welcomed by the Miss Universe Bahamas board members, Bianca Carter, Michelle Collie, Tiffany Forbes, Lisa McCartney, Andy Odenbach and Loretta Thomas, and in true ALBANY fashion, toasted Miss Universe Bahamas 2015 Toria Nichole with Veuve Clicquot premium champagne provided by corporate sponsor Commonwealth Brewery Ltd.

Tavistock Group representative and Board member, Andy Odenbach, said, “On behalf of the Tavistock Group, we are honored to be able to host this year’s Miss Universe Bahamas pageant and look forward to continuing to do so in partnership with the Miss Universe Organization and our Bahamian sponsors and partners for many years to come.”. Loretta Thomas, Business Development Director, introduced the guests to former Miss Universe Bahamas Queens while the reigning Queen, Toria Nicole, held a closed-door delegate session of encouragement before the 2016 contestants took center stage.

Social & Delegate Director Tiffany Forbes introduced and interviewed contestants Erika Adderley, Ashley Hanna, Rokara Hepburn, Whender La France, Alexandria Pinder, Danielle Pratt, Chivvaun Smith, Crystal Stubbs, Cherell Williamson and Selvenique Wright before they modeled their daytime fashions at Footprints terrace, adjacent to ALBANY’s poolside.

“We intend to elevate this this pageant to a level of excellence compatible with the high standards of Tavistock and ALBANY,” National Pageant Director, Michelle Collie said. “We will roll out the ‘red carpet’ for each event, and give The Bahamas a pageant that its delegates, corporate partners and the public at large are proud to be a part of.”

Media Director Bianca Carter closed the event by reminding guests to follow the Miss Universe Bahamas pageant social media. “We’re going to do this with 2016 style, so please head on over to our social media pages where we’ll post all of the upcoming events and information there. You’ll also be able to follow the journey of the girls,” said Carter.
