Family members of former College of The Bahamas President Dr. Keva Bethel yesterday shot down rumors that she died sometime during the last few days.
That erroneous report was also on the front page of The Punch tabloid yesterday.
“We wish to assure the Bahamian public that, contrary to rumors circulating this past weekend, and to reports published in local tabloids, our mother remains alive, though gravely ill,” said a statement by Dr. Bethel’s daughter and son, Nicolette Bethel Burrows and Edward Bethel.
Dr. Bethel has been battling cancer for the past several years.
