Acoustic music is made naturally, without the use of electricity or electronics. It is any type of natural sound, and it is essentially synonymous with the term "unplugged". The music is played without amps, electronic keyboards or any instrument that needs to be plugged into an electrical circuit. The term originally developed to denote the type of music that is played on an acoustic guitar as opposed to an electric guitar.

Katherine Beneby will bring together worship leaders, artists and groups in an acoustic worship experience, in an effort to showcase their authentic, natural sound.

Averia Rolle, Monique Terez, Anthony Munnings, Jonathan Farrington and Grace Generation, A'leitha Sweeting, Potential Church Worship Team, Sweet Grace and Najie Dun will bring their beautiful, natural sounds to Beneby's event, Acoustic Worship at Potential Church, which will be held on Friday, July 29.

"Acoustic Worship will be so beautiful because patrons will be hearing things pure and authentic," said Beneby.

"We're not worried about the light or the sound -- none of that stuff. We're creating great atmosphere, but that's not the focus. It will be about fellowshipping and community with Jesus. There will be no electronic interference with the sound. It will be more natural, like an unplugged concept -- allowing people to hear the artists in their natural form. You will have acoustic guitars, pianos, drums, but it wouldn't be what you would get at a normal concert. It will be pure, natural and authentic."

Beneby said on the evening the artists will lift their voices in praise in releasing their natural, authentic sound to the king.
Monique Terez, Anthony Munnnings and A'leitha Sweeting will be in their element as acoustic artists. Najie Dun is a rapper, but he will be on his acoustic flow that evening. Averia Rolle will bring a praise and worship style to the event.

They will be coupled with praise and worship groups Jonathan and Grace Generation, Potential Church's worship team and Epic Church's Sweet Fragrance. The last group is known for its prophetic flow and unpredictability in its music. Beneby said they're not limiting what the evening will turn out to be.

"We're just looking forward to what each one of them will bring to the table and what God does in and through them."

The night of acoustic worship will be free to the public, according to Beneby, who said sometimes people just need to get away from the noise. It is her hope that the acoustic worship experience provides them with that escape.

"We honestly just want people to come and not worry about money or anything of that sort. Just have an environment to lay it all down, relax and refresh themselves. This type of environment will allow people to soak in God's presence, and just lay back, chill and soak it all in," she said.

"When I was looking at hosting this event, I wanted to connect with a church that had more of a similar style of worship that we were looking for, and Potential Church's style of praise and worship connects with the event. I approached their music director and partnered with them because they connect with the vision."

It is Beneby's hope that people leave encouraged, refreshed and infused.

"Sometimes we just need a refresher, and we're hoping that this experience will create that. We want people to just come as they are. Come comfortable and ready and open for what God wants to do," said Beneby.

Curtains go up on the acoustic worship experience at 7:30 p.m. at Potential Church, JFK Drive.
