The Bahamas National Trust is aware of the public concerns expressed on social media and elsewhere about a proposed development on Egg Island, near Spanish Wells, Eleuthera.

The BNT has not been made aware of any approvals in principle with regard to the rumoured Egg Island development.

After several inquiries from BNT members and other concerned citizens, a letter was sent on July 7 to the director of the Investment Authority - and copied to the director of the BEST Commission.

The letter requested information on any potential developments planned for Egg Island. There has been no response so far, but the BNT will continue to follow up in accordance with our statutory mandate.
