Bay St. fire wreaks havoc

Around seven buildings were destroyed or damaged today when fire engulfed the Betty K Agency building on Bay Street and spread to nearby structures, shutting down the island's city center.
According to officials, the fire is now under control but is still smoldering.
About 25 firefighters battled the raging fire for hours.
The blaze
started at the Betty K building on East and Bay Streets shortly before 8
a.m. today, and had spread to surrounding buildings, including The Pub,
a sports bar located south of Betty K and a number of buildings near
the shipping company.
