Another game another blowout!

Team Bahamas won its fourth straight game at the Caribbean Basketball Confederation (CBC) Championships in Georgetown, Guyana yesterday, knocking off Barbados 100-41.

Detarrio Thompson led seven players in double figures with 15 points in the game. Michael Cartwright finished with a double-double of 11 points and 15 rebounds, Samuel Hunter added a double-double of 11 points and 10 rebounds and Christopher Johnson chipped in with 12 points and eight rebounds.

With the win, team Bahamas moves into today's medal round as the number one seed in the tournament.

In yesterday's game, The Bahamas continued to dominate in the paint. They've found success getting to the hoop throughout the tournament and continued attacking against Barbados, finishing with 72 points in the paint. They also imposed their will on the glass, outrebounding Barbados 39-13 on the offensive boards and 27-18 on defense boards.

The Bahamas jumped out to a 34-14 lead at the end of the first quarter and continued to pour it on in the second, taking a 48-26 lead into the half.

Out of the break it was more of the same. Team Bahamas continued aggressively attacking Barbados' interior defense, overpowering them most of the time. They outscored Barbados 23-10 in the third quarter and held them to just five points in the fourth to seal the deal.

Despite the fact that they shot 53 percent in the game, team Bahamas continued to struggle from long range, shooting just 15 percent from behind the three-point line.

Although they couldn't find the range from deep, they made up for it on the defensive end of the floor. The Bahamas came up with 28 steals and forced Barbados into 33 turnovers in the game.

On Wednesday, Team Bahamas set a new tournament record in points as they trampled Dominica 125-21, which was also the largest margin of victory in tournament history.

The Bahamas is among a group of 10 teams for the boys' championship. Group A includes the Bahamas, British Virgin Islands, Antigua and Barbuda, Barbados and Dominica. Group B includes Aruba, Suriname, Trinidad and Tobago, Jamaica and the hosts Guyana.
